The Candela Gentle Max Pro is one of the world’s leading devices for long-term hair removal – medically approved, widely recognised and known for its effectiveness and safety.
Its special feature is the combination of two laser systems, alexandrite and Nd:YAG, in one device. This combination provides a versatile laser platform, with treatment selected according to skin and hair type.
Depending on skin and hair type, one or both laser wavelengths can be used. This allows treatment to be tailored to the needs of your skin.
Another feature is the integrated DCD cooling system (Dynamic Cooling Device™), which automatically delivers a short cooling spray before every laser pulse to help protect the skin. This helps make treatment gentler and more comfortable.
Alexandrite laser
The alexandrite laser is one of the most sought-after lasers on the market. Its 755 nm wavelength is particularly suited to light to medium skin types (I–III) and dark hair.
The laser light reaches the hair root, where heat damages the follicle. Visible results may appear after a few treatments; protecting the surrounding skin requires suitable settings and cooling.
The alexandrite laser offers precision even for persistent hair. Combined with the integrated cooling system, it supports a gentler and more comfortable treatment, including for sensitive skin when individually suitable.
Nd:YAG laser
The Nd:YAG laser is particularly suited to darker skin types (IV–VI), where many other lasers have limitations. Its 1064 nm wavelength penetrates more deeply than many shorter wavelengths and targets pigment in the hair root. Since shorter wavelengths are more strongly absorbed by skin pigment, choosing an appropriate wavelength is particularly important for darker skin.
The laser generates heat that damages the follicles responsible for hair growth while aiming to protect the surrounding skin. This allows deeper follicles and darker skin types to be treated when appropriate. Pigment changes and skin irritation remain possible risks.
The Nd:YAG laser can also achieve good results on thick, strong hair. Combined with the integrated DCD cooling system, treatment can be more comfortable and gentler on the skin, including sensitive areas when individually suitable.
